Just wanted to write of few notes to recap last season. We had a season most never thought we would achieve. We had 14 girls on the roster and 8 of them were freshman!!!!!! Obviously being so youthful most people thought we were going to have a "rebuilding" year. Well, our senior was not satisfied with that and lead the way vocally and by example. Everybody seemed to follow suit and we ended our season 20-11 and received a NCAA Tournament birth. We ended up with several post season honors. Jasmine Padin (a freshman) broke the school record for 3 pointers made in a single season and Emma Veach (Freshman) was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year. In addition to be named the league's rookie of the year, Veach was named to the All-GLIAC North Division Second Team, while sophomore Biz Van Tiflin earned GLIAC North Division All-Defensive Team honors. Kim Wyngaard was named All-GLIAC North Division First Team. So why did we have all of this success? Well...we have to sayings that we lived by the entire season. Passion...Purpose...Pride and D2440. We were going to have Passion with every workout, game, community service or team event. There was a Purpose with every workout, game, community service or team event and we were aware of it. Finally, we accomplished everything and tackled every challenge with a sense of Pride. D2440 meant details and discipline for 40 minutes. The girls became committed to these two saying and most importantly to each other. The became committed to our lone senior Kim Wyngaard and all of these elements created a recipe for success. We can only grow from here and hope to have and even better 2009-2010 season.

Summer, Summer, Summer
Although the girls have the opportunity to go home for the summer, this is perhaps one of the most important times for them. This is their oppportunity to stay in shape and work on their skills. We do offer the opportunity for them to take classes in the summer which is a nice bonus for them however due to NCAA guidelines we are not allowed to work them out. This means that they really have to be self-motivated to do their summer workouts...because when they return they will have a timed 1.5 mile...YEAH!
